Like most owner operators with a legacy of dispersed assets, Sainsbury’s were confronted with a major challenge when it came to understanding their estate. The only electronic information available to the property team were a vast amount of 2D drawings. BC’s ‘RetroBIM’ approach scraped objects and attributes from the drawing files, linking them to the asset and estate hierarchy in the system, and unlocking the information to enable deep context level searching. ‘OneProperty’ is the branded name given to Sainsbury’s BC Enterprise+ platform, and is a realisation of this remarkable digital vision.
