GroupBC is looking for abright, ambitious and motivated sales executive/business developer to work with property owners, contractors, architects, engineers and construction consultants in the UK & Ireland.
Part of the commercial team, this position is responsible for identifying and managing technology investment opportunities with property owners, contracting and construction professional services practices in the UK and Ireland.
You will play an active role in developing new relationships with Property & AEC businesses who want to invest in technology to help drive business efficiencies and promote a better knowledge sharing and collaboration culture. The successful applicant will be confident engaging on the phone, pitching to clients, communicating complex ideas relating totechnology and process, negotiating contracts and will have a keen appetite for building and developing new relationships.
The role may suit a junior business developer with existing experience coming into a vibrant, successful and forward-looking construction focused technology business.
Your level of knowledge and breadth of experience will determine your key duties. Supported by a strong commercial and marketing function, these duties include:
- Build a pipeline of sales opportunities with UK & Ireland based construction businesses
- Develop relationships with senior decision makers within this market
- Monitor decision making cycles and ensure that GroupBC is involved in the shortlisting process
- Provide vision from a market development perspective
Experience within a similar Business Developer role will underpin everything you do with us. Direct experience of developing information systems opportunities is not vital, however, an interest in business processes and technology is key. You will have a pedigree in telephone work (i.e. cold calling to secure appointments and develop market intelligence), and other networking techniques to establish credibility and open new business opportunities.
As a self-motivated individual, you will be naturally inquisitive about how technology can support business operations and be able to clearly communicate complex ideas to all levels of business sponsor. You will understand construction industry processes, relating to practice and project running and will be able to support software presentations with the appropriate industry dialogue. Solid commercial acument and empathy to business needs is required to engender trust from senior decision makers.
- University educated to degree level
- Two years sales experience (direct sales -B2B)
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
