Digital Caricature Competition raises £250 for food bank charity

We’re proud to offer our congratulations to the winner of our Digital Caricature Competition – construction social media expert, Su Butcher.

Su wins an Apple Watch 2 and a £250 donation to her chosen charity, the Clacton Foodbank. The food bank is part of a nationwide network of food banks supported by The Trussell Trust, working to ‘combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Su is well known for her work within the construction industry where she has been writing and speaking about social media since 2009, encouraging it to use social media channels productively.

On finding out that she was the winner, Su commented:

“I’m so glad I sat down with Chris Mills [GroupBC Sales Consultant] on the GroupBC stand at Building Live to have my caricature made – I learned more about their collaboration software and won a prize, so wins all round!

“I’ll be donating the £250 prize to my local Clacton Foodbank. My company has been supporting them this year as well as doing pro bono work towards eradicating poverty. Food banks do so much to help local people in need – why not support your local Food Bank?

GroupBC would like to offer its thanks to the many visitors that took part and made the competition a successful one.

Competition background

During the Digital Construction Week and Building Live events in late 2016, GroupBC decided to mix fun with technology and arranged for digital artist, Sonia Parra to produce caricatures of all visitors to our stands. We then invited the subjects to promote their caricature on Twitter, with the double incentive of winning a donation to their favourite charity and an Apple Watch.
