BC - built for construction
BC facilitates collaboration at any time from any location, on any system
BC is web-based software written in object-oriented Python programming language enabling it to run on many systems including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux / Unix, PDAs or even mobile phones. It also integrates seamlessly with third-party applications such as ZyLab, Brava! Webkit from Informative Graphics and Microsoft Index Server.
Hardware requirements
The BC server can run on Windows 2000, Linux and UNIX operating systems. The specific hardware requirements vary depending upon the number of users, the amount of information stored and the weight of usage. For instance, if you had 100 users, with a need to store 20 GB of documents and have regular access to those documents we would recommend the following system:
- IBM compatible PC running Windows 2000 / Linux
- Dual 2.8 GHz Pentium Xeon Processor
- 4 GB RAM
- 25 GB Hard Disk (Stores 20GB of Documents, 30 MB of Business Collaborator software and room for Operating system and Web Server)
- A suitable connection to a LAN and / or the Internet.
- An appropriate backup mechanism
End-User requirements
To interact with the BC server we recommend using the following web browsers.
- PC: Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or Mozilla FireFox 1.0
- Mac: Mozilla FireFox 0.9+
Please note: The 2 optional ActiveX controls (Drag and Drop, and File Monitor) will only work in Windows and require Microsoft Internet Explorer v5.0+. Depending upon the view and markup options chosen Java 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE) may also be required.
