4D awarded Utility Week's IT Initiative of the Year
Congratulations to 4Delivery (4D) who last night won the Utility Week IT award for their BC implementation, 4DOnline.
4D, a joint venture between United Utilities, Costain and MWH carrying out a £750million programme of improvement works on behalf of Southern Water across Hampshire, Kent and Sussex, are using BC for internal and external collaboration on AMP4 facilitating collection, management and dissemination of all project information.
To win a Utility Industry Achievement Award is seen as the ultimate recognition of excellence in the utilities sector. The 4D IT team were shortlisted against strong entries from British Gas and E.ON UK (formally Powergen) Collaboration Team.
In describing why they chose the winning solution, the judges summary said:
“The 4Delivery joint venture … had just 6 weeks to create an IT infrastructure to support the three delivery partners and clients teams. It developed a web based document management and collaboration tool called 4DOnline to store and present all project information in an easy to use format. 4DOnline provides 4Delivery and Southern Water visibility and control over the investment programme. Judges described this very impressive solution as flexible, radical and innovative providing quantified benefits and pleasing the customer. ”
