an experienced team

Many of the core management team have a long association with Business Collaborator (BC), with some members even starting off as placement students from Bath University. Most of those with such early associations have grown with the product over the years.

  • Sanjeev Shah, Managing Director
Sanjeev originally developed BC into a commercial product in 1997 having successfully implementing it for his then current organisation to facilitate Collaboration on Complex projects. The product emerged from a three year long European Community project where Sanjeev played a key role. The first enterprise licence was sold to Nationwide Building Society in 1998, who remain a loyal client to this day. Year on year, Business Collaborator Ltd (BCL) has steadily grown under Sanjeev’s leadership and management, with a sustainable recurring revenue base of over 50%. Sanjeev is on the BCL board and is responsible for managing and directing the BCL group, its Services and Products. Sanjeev is also engaged on a new Collaborative European Community project which is designed to produce the next generation in Collaboration Services.
  • Stephen Crompton, Technical Director
Stephen has worked with Sanjeev since 1993. Stephen began his career as a mathematical modeller, developing models and prototyping software to solve complex environmental problems. This work was often incorporated into software solutions developed by Sanjeev and his colleagues. Stephen promoted the use of BC on projects and was quick to realize the benefits which are achievable through the use of web-based collaboration. Initially joining BCL as a Software Developer, Stephen quickly became a key player in the Company, helping to shape its future and ensuring that customer satisfaction remained at the heart of the business. Stephen continues to play a major role within the business. As Technical Director, Stephen is responsible for the BC Product and has worked very closely with customers to ensure continued delivery of quality software which drives new business and secures maintenance streams. Stephen is also responsible for the SEDEX application, which is about to enter its second major development phase and exhibits continual growth.
  • Andrew Bowles, Sales Director
Andrew joined BCL in January 2004 having come from a background selling project management software to the Construction Industry. Andrew has been instrumental in many of BCL's major contract wins over the past four years including sales to Edmund Nuttall, Alfred McAlpine, Westfield and Mouchel amongst others. His involvement on such wins does not simply stop when an order is confirmed. Andrew will continue to see the implementation through until the Client has complete satisfaction. This mind-set coupled with his professional approach to sales were key ingredients to securing Andrew’s promotion to Sales Director in December 2006.
  • Carolyn Sellar, Customer Services Manager
Carolyn worked with Sanjeev and Stephen in the mid 90s having joined the company following the completion of a PhD in Physics. Carolyn's remit was to develop software solutions for complex mathematical models. Carolyn subsequently joined the BCL team having recognised the significant strides BC was making in addressing the complex Collaboration problems that were inherent in her own projects, many of which involved working in a global environment with disparate systems and organisations. Carolyn's first priority is towards Customer Satisfaction and her role as Customer Services Manager which has been held since 1998 is very appropriate for her skills and attitude. Carolyn is also responsible for Training programmes, the production of the product's help pages, training materials, co-ordinating Support and liaising with the Solutions and Development team to ensure clients' requests are dealt with appropriately.
  • Paul Robinson, Systems Manager
Paul has been with BCL since 1999 and was instrumental in the early development of the BC product. Since then, Paul has overseen the release of 10 versions and been responsible for designing and implementing our software hosting service. Paul is also involved with both pre and post sales consultancy where infrastructure and related technical input is required.
