lloyds tsb
In 2004, Lloyds TSB Group Property Management and their supply chain became the first BC users required to log in to their account using a SecurID token during their branch refurbishment programme.
This popular and very secure method of "two-factor" authentication requires a user name, a password and a physical token which stores a random number synchronized with the BC server, thus removing the opportunity for identity theft. SecurID authentication was implemented on the Lloyds TSB server as one of a number of security measures added to the server during a six-month security audit which BC happily survived.
To provide the service BCL partnered with Signify who specialize in "identity management" and who worked closely with BCL and Lloyds TSB to make the experience as smooth as possible.
